2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 medium carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup green lentils
6 cups vegetable broth

2 bay leaves

Instructions:
Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
