Ingredients:


2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

Optional add-ins: chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit


Instructions:


Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.


In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, unsweetened applesauce, honey or maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.


In a separate mixing bowl, combine the baking soda, baking powder, salt, and whole wheat flour. Mix well.


Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.


Fold in any optional add-ins, if using.


Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.


Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
